Happy Back to Homeschool!
Are you ready for a new homeschool year?! Maybe that’s the wrong question if you’ve already started your homeschool year weeks ago or you homeschool year-round and have been going straight through summer.
Our family will be starting back to a more regular routine in a couple of weeks but in the meantime we are working through some Five in a Row units to ease back into it and we honestly have so much fun with them that the kids don’t recognize it as “school”. 🙂
This flexibility that we homeschoolers enjoy is one of our family’s top reasons for homeschooling. And as we head into our fifth year I realize that I also appreciate curriculum materials that allow for a lot of flexibility. That’s probably why I love the Five in a Row curriculum so much!
I decided to make a change mid-year last year and we switched to Five in a Row. I am so glad we did and actually wish we would have started using it sooner. It’s been a real blessing and has allowed me to be creative, pulling in additional resources as I choose to, has allowed us to read together more, and the kids really enjoy it.
As far as our curriculum choices for this year, I’ll be revealing our complete 2016-2017 curriculum choices this week so make sure to sign up for my free newsletter to find out what they are!
We will be using Five in a Row again and we will also do more notebooking this year as we work through each FIAR book. I’m anticipating it to be hugely successful and I’m really looking forward to it. Notebooking Pages is an amazing resource and while I have chosen to purchase the lifetime membership, they have a ton of free resources that you’ll want to check them out if you are considering notebooking.
But whether you’ve already started your homeschool year or will be starting weeks from now, you have the opportunity to snag some really great stuff! This year’s iHomeschool Network giveaway is so exciting with a ton of amazing homeschool resources up for grabs. I can hardly believe the number of goodies that will be going to over 50 homeschool families this year!
I am thrilled to be a part of this and can’t wait to give away my own basket of awesome books to one of you!
Items included in this Back to Homeschool Giveaway:
I feel all giddy telling you about these wonderful books and resources. I wanted to put materials together that we love and that would be a blessing to one of you.
If you’ve never used the Five in a Row curriculum before but have been wanting to try it out now is your chance! Or maybe you are working through Volume 1 and would love to get your hands on Volume 2. Well, here it is!
And while it’s certainly possible to just get the FIAR books from the library, which is what we’ve been doing thus far, it’s so much better to own them. I have realized that the kids fall in love with many of the books we read through and I know they’d pick them back up to read them again after our “row” is complete. So, I’m working on purchasing our own books but I wanted to get you started on the right foot and so in addition to the manual I’m including some of the accompanying books!
You can learn about our own Five in a Row experience with Madeline.
You can learn about our own Five in a Row experience with Mirette on the High Wire.
Blog post with our Five in a Row experience of The Story of Ferdinand will be up soon.
We’ll be reading Miss Rumphius this year!
PLUS, I am also excited to include this amazing book with a wonderful book list of books from around the world!
And you’ll also receive one of the books that Jamie loves and recommends. We have this book too and have used it with our Five in a Row studies. As we study various countries we read the story of the children from that particular country.
