The biggest news from the past two weeks is that we signed Snootz up for karate! We had first looked into it almost two years ago and then last month we revisited it as a possibility and completed a trial at a couple of different places. Karate is a really big commitment in terms of time and money but after lots of thought and consideration we decided to go ahead. We are so excited for Snootz to begin his first “real” class next week and he is totally pumped up and ready to go!
Snootz also went to a couple of birthday parties for his friends these past weeks. At one of the parties he even got tractor rides! It’s been so fun to see his friendships flourish.
The girls have been working on Frozen themed activities and are loving it! They are big fans and Tootsie Pop was inspired to draw her own picture of Olaf, Anna and Elsa. I love this picture she drew!
And here is a rare sight at our house…..someone napping. With naps having pretty much come to a halt two years ago, I typically don’t see closed eyes during the day, unless someone is pretending. But this little girl was really tired after a busy week and crashed on the couch for a couple of hours!
The girls were playing ring around the rosie with their Barbies and I thought it was so cute that I had to get a photo.
Snootz insisted on getting a photo with his new super-awesome Woody doll.
Last weekend we had a family game night and I was finally able to play my new game from last Christmas that I’ve heard great things about (yes, it takes us a while to get around to doing some things!). Joey, Snootz and I played and the girls helped set the trains on the board. Turns out that Ticket to Ride is a great game and we had such a nice time as a family! It got pretty late though and I look really tired in the photo. I turned it into black and white to try and hide my tiredness – I don’t think it worked! 🙂
One of the things I most love about homeschooling is the opportunity for the children to create and learn things that most interest them. Last week Snootz decided he wanted to make up his own game and proceeded to create what he calls The Fun Game. Once he finished it, we played this wonderfully creative game together and of course it was lots of fun because, well, it’s The Fun Game! 🙂
