The leaves are changing color here and are quite beautiful. We went to the park last week and although my phone doesn’t take the best photos, you can still see how pretty the trees are. Our children are so excited for the leaves to fall so they can rake and then jump in a big piles of leaves.
The kids wanted to climb the hill while we were at the park. They all look so little up there. 🙂
The girls continued to work on their Wizard of Oz activities.
And we finished off the week with an overnight trip to Wisconsin Dells which is about two hours away. It’s a major Wisconsin hot-spot in the summertime but with the cooler weather it wasn’t very busy and a lot of attractions were closed for the season.
However, it was perfect for us as this was a much-needed getaway for all five of us to spend some time together. And it was actually pretty nice that it wasn’t crowded there. We swam in our motel pool, played retro video games, ate at Paul Bunyan’s and went to an indoor water park twice. We were all exhausted by the end of it.
Swimming at the motel….
Snootz has been taking swimming lessons for a little over a year and it is great to see how far he has come since then. When he first started his lessons last September he was really afraid and refused to jump in the water or float on his back, even with a swim aid. Now he loves the water and is totally comfortable and can swim on his own, he jumps in, swims underwater and floats on his own. What awesome progress!
We had to get a photo of the kids with Paul Bunyan!
Chula Vista indoor water park…..
There was a Wisconsin Dells “Duck” displayed on the lawn outside of Chula Vista so we took advantage of the photo opp. We didn’t actually ride on one.
(You gotta love the wet hair!)
So how was your week? What did you do?
