The weekend of November 20th I packed up the kids, the van, and my favorite husband (don’t worry, he’s the only one I have but he’s still my favorite) and we headed off to Chicago for the Toy and Game Fair at Navy Pier. Being my first toy and game fair I wasn’t sure what to expect but it turned out to be an absolute blast!
Do you have any favorite Christmas books that you read to your children?
There are so many wonderful children’s Christmas books and I cherish these years of sitting together with my children, reading about Christ’s birth and reflecting on the miracle of Jesus.
A couple of years ago I discovered the book Song of the Stars by Sally-Lloyd Jones and it has become one of our absolute favorites. If you are looking for a books that stirs your soul and makes the wonder and awe of Christmas anew then this book is for you.
Are you looking for a gift for a child who loves dinosaurs?
At the age of four, our son began his love (and obsession) with dinosaurs. For the next year or two everything was about dinosaurs. During that time we accumulated a lot of dinosaur toys, books and puzzles.
So, I have put together a list of suggestions from first-hand experience of seeing what a child who loves dinosaurs is interested in.
If you could offer a challenge to your child that would motivate them to spend more time reading, then reflecting and writing about what they read, while helping children in need, would you do it?
We have a few Peanuts lovers in our home who are so excited for The Peanuts Movie to come out. They’ve been watching the old Peanuts movies and our son has been reading Peanuts comics any chance he can get.
With all the Peanuts hype I knew it was time to put together a little Peanuts learning fun. And with Halloween approaching, what better book and movie to use than It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
